What Makes Our Juice Different?
Numbers you can check, printed on the bottle.
The Liquid Gold Story
The Shining Horse. Hippophae — the botanical name the Greeks gave it — means exactly that. They fed the berries to their horses for lustrous coats, and legend tied the plant to Pegasus himself.
The Olympic Secret. China named sea buckthorn drinks the official beverage of its athletes at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, the year the berry's reputation went global.
The Cosmonaut's Berry. Soviet cosmonauts carried sea buckthorn into orbit for its antioxidant density. It has literally been to space.
The Mountain Medicine. The Gyud Bzi, an eighth-century Tibetan medical text, recommended sea buckthorn for those travelling at altitude — from the same mountains ours is harvested in.
What's Actually in the Bottle, and Why
Ninety per cent sea buckthorn fruit pulp. Water. One permitted preservative, INS 211, declared on the label.
We could have left that last line off the front of the pack and hoped you did not turn the bottle around. We would rather explain it. A fruit pulp that travels across India at ambient temperature and then sits open in your fridge for a month has to be kept safe somehow. There are three honest ways to do that: aseptic packing, heavy pasteurisation that costs the berry much of its Vitamin C, or a small quantity of a permitted preservative. We chose the third, because it protects the nutrition we are asking you to pay for.
What we have not added: sugar, colour, flavour, or anything to hold the pulp artificially in suspension. That is why it separates in the bottle, and why you shake it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can't find the answer you're looking for? We're here to help.
It is the pressed pulp of the sea buckthorn berry, Hippophae rhamnoides, a small orange fruit that grows on thorny shrubs at high altitude. Ours is a concentrate: ninety per cent fruit pulp, taken diluted rather than drunk straight like an ordinary fruit juice.
Ten millilitres in about two hundred millilitres of water, once or twice a day, before meals. Shake well first. A 300 ml bottle gives you thirty servings — a month at one a day.
Because we direct a 10 ml serving and they direct roughly six. From the same 300 ml bottle, a smaller serving produces a bigger number on the front of the pack. We would rather you got the full dose than the bigger number.
Sharp and bright — somewhere between passion fruit and unripe citrus, with a faintly oily finish from the berry's natural oil. It is genuinely tart. Start with 10 ml in a full glass of water and adjust the dilution to taste.
None. Total sugars are 0.14 g per 10 ml serving and all of it occurs naturally in the fruit. We add no sugar, no colour and no flavour.
Yes — one permitted preservative, INS 211, declared on the label. A fruit pulp kept at ambient temperature and then open in your fridge for thirty days needs to be kept safe, and the alternative is heavy heat treatment that would cost the berry much of its Vitamin C. We print it rather than leave you to find it.
Because it is real fruit pulp with nothing added to hold it in suspension. Separation and gradual colour darkening are normal. Shake well before each pour.
